Okay i bought a bluetooth adapter for my pc which works great. I can connect my turtle beach elite 800s to my pc and listen to music no problem. I can even hear my voice in playback when i set the headset as the default device for recording when you test it. I use the elgato software to live stream on youtube and i want to use my headset to do commentaries while streaming which i should be able to do. I think i have my pc settings correct. Inside the elgato software there is a section for live com. The drop down has my headset listed. When i select it, it does not pick up any audio when im talking. I also tried with elgato sound capture. Ive played with alot of settings but elgatos software just will not pick up my microphone for some reason. My pc picks it up fine. So how to i direct the microphone to the elgato software?

Solution
Do you have Elgato Sound Capture installed?

Also alternatively, **** Elgato's software:

You can try OBS since it's free:

And here's how to set it up for local recordings, as well as use multiple audio tracks if you desire.

And to set it up for Twitch:

And to get it setup for Youtube streaming:

And optimizing it for Youtube...

No unfortunately, ive looked over this many times and that appears to be from older software than the one thats avaliable for download actually. My software looks different. I recently got my elgato and downloaded the software from their site but its different than whats pictured in their help site there. And by recently i mean a few weeks ago. No updated software on their site. And their solutions or help tutorials do not seem to help me.

I tried that before posting here. I should have mentioned that. Me and the tech went through many options. He was unable to assist me and escalated the issue..
However, i did get a different, cheaper pair of headphones working. I want my nice ones to work though. I got my old Turtle beach px22s to work.
The only difference i can see other than one being wired and the other wireless is that in the sound settings my PX22s are listed as PX22s and if you go to the advanced tab the default audio format is 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz, (DVD Quality)
Where as my elite 800s are listed are headphones and the default format is 1 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)

I am currently searching for driver software for these wireless headphones, doesnt look like there is any though.
With both pairs of headphones the default format in sound settings is greyed out. It will not allow me to change it.
Is there any way around this? I guess i need to change the format to 2 channel. But it wont allow me to in the settings. Does anyone know of another way to change it?

The drivers for my computer are up to date. If i select my default playback device which is my soundbar connected directly to my pc via optical connection and i am able to change the default format. The default is set to 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz, (DVD Quality).
What are you thinking?

Also, if i select my headphones inside of playback and check the properties there they are also set to 2 channel.
In recording properties they are set to 1 channel. Both of these settings are greyed out and unchangeble.
My PX22s in playback only say 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).
In recording my PX22s are set to 2 channel. Both of these settings are also greyed out and unchangable.

If i take my wireless headphones and use a 3.5mm jack with them they work but thats using my pcs onboard sound. Not that theres anything wrong with that, but i want to be able to use them wirelessly.
If i have to use a wire im going to use my PX22s to do live coms. And im not going to give up on my wireless headset until ive exhausted every other option.
The strange thing i think is that when i connect my elite 800s via bluetooth they show up in the elgato software as though i should be able to use them. But my voice just isnt picked up. Everything else works like its supposed to as far as listening through the headphones.
I do not know that this would fix my issue but it seems to me i need to be able to change my wireless headsets recording default format to 2 channel like my PX22s.

Solution

That is a working solution i think. It can hear my elite 800s fine. As far as broadcasting my voice im not sure yet but it was very easy to setup with my elgato and my headphones. Working on setting up youtube at this moment.
I will be using this software if i cannot find a solution to the other software. But since this software works and elgatos does not, that means it has to be an issue with elgatos software, right? Very disappointing.

Yeah, OBS maybe isn't as pretty looking, but it does the same job, and usually better.
