I need help with my first pc build...

Here are my components:

I'm almost done with my very first pc build. When I turn it on it goes into the bios (which is normal) and the cpu temperature quickly increases. Within 2 - 5 minutes it would be at around 65 - 69 degrees c. This cpu has pre-applied thermal paste and I am using the cpu cooler that came with the cpu. I do not know what is causing this over-heating. There may be a problem with the paste, heatsink, or the cables getting in the way? Is 500w too much or too little? All/any help is appreciated!

For a amd cpu a aftermarket cooler is always recommended, I'd suggest you get a cheap one like the coolermaster hyper evo 212, its below 30 dollars and should keep the temps lower

get the spec 2 case instead of spec 1 spec 2 has 2 fans additional 1 fan more than spec 1 and the price is almost same for the 2......an aftermarket cooler would be good if u OC your processor now or later....amd stock heatsink are very cheaply made and not at all good for handling high temperature.....so get a coolermaster hyper t3x its about 16 $ i would also have suggested u the hyper 212 evo but your case has 158 mm cpu clearance and the hyper 212 is 159 mm in height so if it fits by any chance it would be a very tight fit.......

Thanks for the help! I'll consider buying an aftermarket cooler. But should the temperature be a lot lower in idle mode even when using the stock cooler?

Idle @ 30C is normal!

It might, i mean those temps aren't the worse but bordering on 80 is worrying so a cheap cooler like yhe one i mentioned will help it go down a few degrees

the aftermarket coolers are helpful when the cpu is at load at idle the stock cooler can handle the temperature ......plus it will keep the noise level low the stock coolers are extremely loud under load....
