I got a product key from a friend and now it says that i need to activate windows.

i am scared to agree and code does not work.

what happens if i just leave it.

Buy a license. You can't just use someone else's key

As mentioned you need to buy a key. You must activate otherwise Windows will cease to function. It should tell you how many days you habe left to activate.

If you cant afford Windows, perhaps you should look at Linux as it is free.

As for activation, if you do it, it will activate or it wont. Worst case you get your friends key blacklisted and his version wont work either (unlikely though)

You need to buy your own license key for your PC.
