I have a magnifying scope camera that is usb2 powered.

The Chinese instructions say it is an A99 but the website that it says to get the driver from is no longer available.

In case it helps, this is what they gave http://ypc.oss-cn-shenzhen.aliyuncs.com/an99.rar

I tried different variations on the site name and it was no good.

Anyways I plug it in to USB3 and USB2 ports. The device is recognized, and it says it is installed successfully and it shows up under device manager BUT

There is no window that shows a picture, there is no drive letter or device name under windows explorer or "computer" assigned to it like happens with a digital camera.

Nothing showing under "programs"

There is power going to the scope, it lights up, it has the correct brightness levels.. just no picture.

So need some help please.

I am using Windows 7 pro if that helps.. it is supposed to be Vista, XP, 7, 8 compatible

I appreciate the response.

I don't have photoshop or skype

Makes sense about not assigning a drive.

Still there must be others with a scope that has figured out how to view it.

Has to be some window or something that opens.

Someone must have the answer... I hope.

You probably need some kind of webcam viewing software, I mentioned photoshop as I thought it might, but now I think about it, it's more a scanner function that it has.

There are none that I particularly recommend, and windows doesn't have a built in app. Just from a checking point of view skype is free, facebook would probably also be able to access a cam, msn messenger could, but it's dead.

Sorry to waste everyone's time.

I found an exe at Oasis Scientific. Click on it and the scope window opens right up.

Thanks for trying to help 13Monkey.

I really appreciate you taking your time to do so.

Yep, I have an older desktop that I run virtual machines on to test all kinds of stuff.

I love experimenting with softwares and such.

Best part is I shut down the virtual machine and everything that I have done is deleted.

And worst comes to worse I just wipe the drive with a complete reinstall and since I have nothing important on it, nothing to back up, the whole reinstall from scratch takes less than an hour.
