I Need Help

Ok so my dad got a computer from his work(Dell Latitude). They aren't using it anymore so my dad got it for me. The police department put their own system image on it(not telling which department or where) for obvious reasons. This means that I can't t install windows 7 because 1) Administration privelages are disabled 2) when i put in my windows 7 installation disc the partition is hidden and it says there isn't one. It is running Windows XP. I used Gparted to try and create a new partition(stupid me). Now I can't even boot into the image itself. I think i might have lost the MBR. I'm an ameture computer geek but have no experience with system images. Don't worry about terminology. I need to know what my options are and how i can install windows 7. (I know how to install windows on a fresh computer). Even a link to a tutorial will do

You did not mention the system specs. If the specs are decent then I would recommend replacing the hard drive and installing a fresh copy of Windows or whatever OS you want on it.

did you check if this dell lattitude have support to win 7 before trying to install the os on .

if they do not have driver for it your run in trouble getting it work on win 7 .
