I need help!

Hi i jus built my computer two months ago and i recently went on a month and a half vacation and when i came back my computer seemed fine. After a few hours of use i get a message saying my cpu fan isnt working properly and i need to check it. So once that message came up my computer froze. Weird thing is my fine was working fine right before that message and even afterwards and coincidentally it hung with amd overdrive open and i saw my cpu temps werent high so im tryin to figure out wats wrong anyone got any ideas?

Thank you and my idle tems are around 22-24 degrees Celsius. My specs are:
CPU-AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE w. stock fan
MOBO-GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 AMD
RAM-G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)
GPU-Biostar Radeon HD 4650 512MB GDDR3
PSU-Ultra LS600 Lifetime Series 600W Power Supply

Not spam because i notice it comes up when my cpu fan is really overdoing it at like 2800rpm

Maybe it is overheating...

Sure you got decent thermal paste on that CPU?

Or

Maybe, it's the PSU...

Never heard about that brand of PSU, why don't you ask some of the PSU experts?

idk i jus put the heatsink and fan on when i built it and it already had thermal paste on it. hmmm i jus got the psu and the guy at compusa said that theyve never had any complaints on it

Hmm... usally, the paste is a tad awful.

What are your load temps?

Umm i think the highest ive seen it go is 44 but ususally under load its like 33-35

Weird... those are decent temperatures.

It just might happen to be AMD overdrive.

Try something like a linux live CD and see if the same thing happens after similar usage/time.

your right im sure its just overdrive because the message only came up when overdrive was open. but ive had my computer running all day while playing crysis warhead, prototype, and sims 3 without a hitch so yeah

See if uninstalling it works. I think the reason behind overdrive going crazy is the fact by running overdrive, overclocks your computer.
