I need help, I built a Gaming PC and I am not getting the performance I was expecting. On YouTube benchmarks people have the same build but are getting substantially more frames.

EVGA 1060 3GB Graphics CARD

What are your *exact* frames on what *specific* games and what are the YouTube videos you're directly comparing with? It's hard to provide much help without knowing all the details of a problem.

As Wolf notes, there are a lot of people who like to play games with FPS on YouTube video, you should only trust them ones from the most impeccable sources. Give me an hour and I can fire up Adobe CS and make a video showing myself getting 120 fps playing Witcher 3 on a Commodore 64.

You really should have asked for advice before building. I don’t want to be mean but to manage expectations your cpu/motherboard/RAM are obsolete. The cpu is under the minimum recommended for many modern AAA games.

Even on youtube one of the uploaders said this in the video description, "I think its safe to say the FX-6300 is just not good enough for modern games anymore. Even at a stable 4.4GHz, it can't keep up with a mid-range GPU like the 1060. It's a shame because the 1060 is such an awesome card and is capable of high performance (especially when overclocked) but this CPU is holding it back."

Im running same gpu clock but only 3.5 on cpu because I have a stock cooler, and no matter what settings ingame I cant seem to get out of the 40-50 frame range and in shotgun battles it goes down to 15-20

If you lower graphics settings but framerate doesn’t go up, then the cpu is holding the gpu back.

Edit: sure you’re +150 core and +600 vram? That’s pretty aggressive.

That’s still good. No matter, gotta OC the cpu or upgrade the platform to go faster. A good basic cooler like Cryorig H7 is about $35. Just gotta check case clearance.

Do you have any other tips to increase at least some performance because I dont think no OC should make that big of a difference. Plus I was watching a fortnite benchmark and the guy was getting substantially more frames on epic settings so I dont think OC will make big difference. If you have any other tips you could offer I would greatly appreciate that.

You should be able to hit that frame rate in Fortnite. What are your CPU temps under load? You may have a cooling issue and your system is thermal throttling. Down load hwmonitor and run a game in window mode and watch your CPU temps. If your temps are getting in the 90C range, that is probably your issue.

If your temps are below 80C, run a bench at userbenchmark.com and post a link to your results here. It will bench your hardware and tell us how it is performing.

What is your PSU? Ensure no thermal throttling in the CPU and GPU, both prone to such issues. Also, try other applications too, to check the overall performance. Also, consider reinstalling the app.

Start Task Manager, stretch it out the width of your screen. On the cpu tab, set it to show logical cores. On the gpu tab, set it to show the individual settings.

Start up Fortnite and play for 5 minutes. Then, tab out to look at Task Manager. Are any of the cores pegged at 100%? Next, quickly switch to the gpu tab and see what the upper left block and memory block show for utilization.

What resolution are you playing at? At low resolutions, below say 1080p, the cpu takes a lot of the load and your fx is getting to be a few years old now.
Make sure you have the most recent graphics drivers from nvidia geforce experience installed.
