I need help. I want to get a gaming PC it would be my first one. I'm not completely hopeless when it comes to tech stuff. I can build and make things easily figure stuff out but I'm not sure what to get or if I should build a PC. I want to be able to emulate GameCube games and ps2 games as cheaply as I can. I've seen walmart has a gaming PC but it's pretty pricey and seems like over kill for what I need. If u could give me any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Solution
This should be more than enough for a DIY build to run emulators and such:

Building it will always be cheaper.
Use https://pcpartpicker.com/ to build it and see if all part are compatible. You will see where to buy the part with the best price.
try to build atx form factor. It's usualy easier and most case and part are for atx. Then decide if you want to go amd or intel. Amd right now seem to have the overall best price, but sometime, amd video card need patch for some game. Intel is also good but a bit more expansive.

It's using the on-board vega graphics instead of a GPU so that saves quite a bit of $ in itself. Agree with Ryzen CPUs they absolutely perform close enough to Intel to justify unlike the older FX series, and with their high-performance Vega graphics on-board Intel cannot even compete. Which PC were you looking at?

Solution
HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop Computer, AMD Ryzen 3 2200G, AMD Radeon RX 550, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, Windows 10 (690-0010, Black) is the computer I was looking at. If it has a onboard GPU will it run ps2 games pretty well?

I've watched a lot of his videos so I'm feeling confident in doing this. I feel like I can out this together. Will there be anything else I need to get before I can start building or is everything I need there on the list. I guess il have to get some thermal paste or does the ryzen come with some? Also does the ryzen come with a cooler. After I get it built how will I start it up? Anything special or just boot it from a USB with Windows

You're on the right track - everything you need should be there *except* the win10 license, so that's the only thing you will need and you can just grab a cheap key from a reputable reseller. A quick overview, when it's all together and you boot up to the BIOS for the first time, you just need to set the memory to use the XMP profile and you should see the 3000 speed on the ram - once that's all done yes go ahead and install win10 from the USB (and on the win10 usb, best bet is to use the win10 iso file and the Rufus utility to burn it to the usb. Just search it up - you have to set it so it can do UEFI / GPT there are quite a few guides on it.
