Okay, I don't know what's wrong, but something has to be.
My system is
Asus a7v,
thunderbird 750 mhz, not overclocked (as far as i know.)
mastercooler (the lower end of the two rated on Tomshardwareguide, but still rated for 43 C)
Okay check this out, I have been looking at other posts as well as the REVIEW that tomshardware did on MY cooler its the sucky mastercooler of the two. But it was rated by tomshardware guide to keep a cpu at 43 C. My asus A7V bios reports that my CPU is running anywhere from 59 C - 62.5 C. Thats REALLY HOT! I dont know what to do, i thought i had gotten a decent cooler, Its running at normal RPM's about 4800 actually. I have my case open. umm, it runs that hot even when the room is COLD. like 45 degrees fahrenheit cold. Anyways, I wanted to see if maybe its not on right?? but it was really tough to get on, cuz it fits REALLY tight, and i couldnt really get it off. But i checked everything. ANd then another thing, check this out, it makes me wonder whats going on wrong.
if i turn it off, leave it off till its cold. Then turn it on, press delete to go into the bios, leave it on the temperature page, leave for about 10 minutes, and come back, the CPU temp goes up to about 52-55 C. Just IN IDLE .
Anyways, some input would be really nice, did i get jacked by the OEM that sold it to me? did they sell me a 700 mhz and overclock it or something? Im going to get some paste for the Heatsink. I really want to overclock, i bought special memory this a7v motherboard, and a 750 mhz t-bird so i could overclock to about 825 mhz.
