Another i5 is the 6400, but I don't recommend that, because it has a very low clock speed.

Most of the time, the PC won't start when you replace the motherboard.
You can google around for it, but I doubt you'll get lucky.
There have been quite a few threads here on tom's about this.
Search around, I can't help you in this case.

No, the problem is with the motherboard. It doesn't matter which HDD the OS is on.

Well, if you don't have it, you could ask the store to reinstall it, if it was prebuilt.
