i need monitor help

my friends little cousin threw a phone into his screen you can still see picture but it is cracked and has white lines going down the screen i was just wondering since theres a way to replace the screen on a laptop is you could do it on a desktop monitor its a 24 inch hitachi monitor

Most laptops gave an output (vga or hdmi) that can be connected to an external monitor.

You shoul;d be able to set it up in Control Panel, Display Settings once you've plugged it in.

check near the top of the keyboard for a monitor shape icon on 1 of the keys & press it on powerup.

no no its a desktop computer its the monitor thats cracked like an actual monitor

ok, now we understand. what is the model number of that monitor & a replacement screen might cost more then a new monitor?

But on a PC you'll find a port out to a monitor as well.

There's no spare screens on ebay. You'd have to find one. Probably cost you more than the monitor is worth. Replace it.

no i was just saying how you could change screens on a laptop you should be able to change it on a monitor? that was my question
