I need of GPU advice

I was looking to buy a Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB for my first gaming pc. I was wondering would it be able to run games such as Battlefield 4 1080 on high with decent fps and would you recommend the card?

For the same price you're better off with the newer r9 270x which is newer and better.

Also it depends on your monitor resolution.

You could easily float through all games on low end card if your monitor is at 1280 x 1020 and not on 1920x1080p.

That is fine. Even at 1080p, that gpu will run everything just fine, as long as you don't try to max everything out.
