I need psu help

Well the TDP (for a full system) for the 280x is approximately, 80W when idle and 300W when under full load: (http://www.anandtech.com/show/7400/the-radeon-r9-280x-review-feat-asus-xfx/20)

In my eyes a good quality 520W is sufficient. However, I must agree with Mr. @Entomber, always go slightly above your needs, take no chances on the PSU. A good quality 550-620W of Seasonic or SuperFlower quality would be preferable.

Secondhand? I would be wary of a secondhand PSU.

750W would not be necessary. Besides, if its the CX-series I do not recommend doing it. Instead, buy a quality 550-620W Seasonic, XFX or Antec PSU.

I vouch for this option. Even though Mr. @4745454b is correct and your initial PSU is sufficient and indeed will run your components, the PSU Mr. @SR-71 linked, will give you the necessary leverage needed to overclock, since you have a K-series processor, plus it is good quality. I can't stress how important that is.
