Greetings, I have an ASUS Z97-E / usb3.1 motherboard and I want to put an M.2 ssd of at least 500gb, but it is very difficult to find one that is compatible, since the manual contains very little information about M.2 .
I have the bios updated to the latest version.
Help is appreciated.

Thank you.
But won't there be a 500gb M.2 compatible with the z97-E / usb3.1?
I want to put windows 10 and my documents there.
The performance difference will be minimal. And the older motherboards can be a hassle with NVMe. A SATA SSD will give you 90% of the benefits with 0% of the hassle. You might even be able to get a 1TB MX500 or similar for the price you are willing to pay.
