I need software that will allow me to use my laptop's webcam.

I have a Gateway NV-52 and when I got it, it came with Windows Vista and a program that allowed me to take video and pictures with my webcam. Someone recently put Windows 7 on my computer and so I basically lost all of those old programs, and now I have no way of even using my webcam. I was wondering if I can simply find a program online to download that will let me use my webcam and if I can, what is a good program that is preferably free and compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate? Thank you.
