Hello, :)

I would like to get some help on building a pc.
Yesterday i have made a configuration, wich i think is pretty good.
But, i asked help somewhere and another person also made a configuration.

I want it to play BF4 @ ultra without problems. (also other games ofcourse) Also i'd like to have a "Future Proof" pc.

I prefer 1 GPU and have never SLI'd or CF'd even though I have had cards that were able to since it was started with the 7900GT way back in 2006 0r 7 Just balance it out so if you don't need to spend 500 euros on a graphics card to play max settings why do it? (you said you want future proof, buying the best now won't guarantee that though) my recommendation is taking a medium card now (BUT current gen (this is important)) Belangrik!! 😛

And just upgrade it with the same league in 3 years.

So I will tell you what I do: Buy most components top of the line (motherboard, CPU,PSU are the most important)

Then I buy decent ram (but you can always buy more since it's cheap so this isn't that important) same with Hard drives.

Good thing I am Afrikaans or it would've been hard to amend the build 😛

There is no OS in there so I am not sure if the budget is 1500 Euros without those it 1500 Euros with it and you forgot about it.

So I will post my tweaked version of yours which is better then I will edit this post with my recommendation because you have no OS or GPU.

IF you can use the current PC's hard drive for OS and that stuff that'd be great because more money for a better GPU then...

You can just reinstall it on the SSD

I dont need an OS because i'm working on a school wich has unlimited keys.
but the 2 links do have a GPU in it, The first one (r9 280x )
And the second one ( r9 290x )
I'd like to have 16GB of ram.
And do i really need a i7 4770K ? I read that a i5 4670k is good enough.

I amended that mistake I overlooked almost instantly :)

Reworded it to just OS in the case of no OS use my link for the Crossfire and just remove Win 8.

BUT maybe stick with the GPU you decided on I think the extra V RAM is better (I am guessing you play on higher than 1920x1080p resolution)

Thx for your help.
I do not play on a higher resolution than 1920x1080p, i just want a good vid card 😛 And is crossfire a better choise than just 1 gpu ? i heard amd and crossfire isn't really that great.

Now you buy a medium range GPU because it can max out any game, play them on 60FPS and more, and when the technology gets old in 3 years you didnt waste too much money and wont be depressed. You will be like oh I am just upgrading my phone (because most of us upgrade every 2 years) it's the same with PC's you upgrade the GPU every 3 years, you don't have to but to still be able to play on high or ultra you will, if you are happy with medium-low you can hold out for even 4-5 years maybe...

So yeah 1 GPU is fine, I only use 1 myself.

But there is no need to buy the best unless you want to brag...

Like I built myself a 3000+ euro pc in February guess what GPU I have in it...

Nope not a Titan, nope not a 690, nope not a 780,770 ect.

I have a 660Ti PE... that's it!

Why? Because I am going to purchase a 860 next year so what's the use of buying the most expensive

Look at a few benchmarks with the Titan vs GTX780 - see the difference? Yes it's small, compare the prices, yes it's more than double.

So yeah 1 GPU is perfect man and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. I just have this principle that if I have a budget for a pc say 1500 euros I need to spend it all 😛 I am crazy like that so why don't you use the extra money for a I don't know 4TB HDD? a Blu Ray Drive? something 😀 a new mouse maybe!

Thanks! :) you are really helping me out.
So i think i'll just go for the r9 280x since its more than 100 euro cheaper than the 290x (still the r9 290x is made especially for bf4, but i think the 280x will be great too ) , And maybe i'll choose for an i7 instead of an i5. I've got a great mouse ( mmo / g600 ) but maybe i'll get an fps mouse too (don't know if its necessarily)

Yeah man i7 will last you much longer in terms of upgrades, where as the i5 will also survive you will have better long term performance with the i7.

I think the 280x is the best bag for the buck really and would I have needed to upgrade right now I am pretty sure I would have taken it myself. :) You're welcome
