I've had my 3570K for almost 5 years now and it still works pretty well. Throughout those five years I have not overclocked it once, primarily because the motherboard I got with the CPU does not have the ability to. Trust me I made sure. I know I could get a z77 for around $100 on ebay, but at this point is it worth the investment?
I've already looked up the cost to upgrade to a Ryzen 5-1600 and the cost is over $400 with Ram, CPU, CPU heatsink, and motherboard. However, I could be set with that for years.

Currently this is my setup:
i5-3570K (Not OC)
GTX 980TI (slightly OC)
16GB DDR3 (I believe the speed is 1333)
850w PSU

Solution

Would I not need a heatsink as well?
