Hi all,

I'm building a system for a friend atm, which he wants to OC' too 3.2 minimum. I'll run down the system, and have a few q's afterwards, as I'm not totally certain on the core parts he's looking at.

Here's the core system.

Aspire X-Super Alien Case w/500 watt Aspire PSU (Silver)
P4 2.4c
P4C-800 Deluxe
Corsair PC3500 512 (x2)
Seagate ST3120023AS (120 Sata) (x2)
ATi Radeon 9800 pro 128
MS XP Pro

Case (actually PSU): The case looks pretty cool, but does anyone know how good the Aspire 500W PSU is? Is it better or worse than the Trupower 430W PSU that comes with the Antec 1080 AMG?

Mobo: He is dead set and heels dug in for this mobo, so no q's for it.

RAM: Which ram is going to work better for the OC, the PC3500 (DDR400) 512MB DDR (CMX512A-3500C2) x2, PC3700 (DDR467) 512MB DDR (CMX512A-3700) x2, Twin-X PC3200 2x512MB DDR (TWINX1024-3200LL) x2, or Twin-X PC3700 2x512MB DDR (TWINX1024-3700LL) x2?

HDD'S: Because the mobo uses the promise raid, would it make sense to strip these two S-ATA drives together, or would it be more practicle to use two Western Digital WD1200JB IDE 120GB ATA100 8MB drives instead? If not, are there better 120 gig S-ATA drives to buy?

Vid Card: Should we over-volt the vidcard or not (have never tried this before)?

He wants to keep this system air-cooled and go for 3.6 on the CPU.. His place gets REALLY hot in the summer though (30+ degree's Centigrade with AC off), so if we try for the goal of 3.6, should go with water cooling yes no? What's a good water cooler at a reasonable price?

2.4C will do 3.2 easy if you get good core, something made in Malaysia and runs at low default vcore.

-Intel PIV 2.4C @ 3.84G -Asus P4P800 -OCZ Gold 2x256 3700EL memory @ 256mhz 2.5-3-3-7 -Sapphire 9800pro @ 490/780 -SB audigy -80G Maxtor Diamond Plus9 Ultra ATA-133 hdd -450 Enermax PSU

That trupower PSU will most likely outperform that 500wt psu for its more efficient with its energy loss which means it will run much cooler too. It will also be easier on the power bill too ;-)
