Question I need some help determining the fix to a HP 6560b laptop so the dock will charge it ?

hello. i have a hp 6560b laptop that will not charge when sitting on this dock. when i hit the power button on the dock, the unit turns on, but no charging whatsoever. i initially thought the dock was bad, but after two tries of other docks, it's the laptop that is not co-operating with the plan. i'm thinking the stainless steel posts are the part that carries the current, so, is this as easy as running an alcohol swab inside the laptop bottom where it connects to the posts, or is there someone I need to turn on with the laptop or...?

It all depends on what the issue is. If it's fixable by cleaning the connectors, sure try that. If not, then you need to replace the port which is probably part of the motherboard.
