I need some help here. I keep on getting Kernel Power Error
I upgraded some parts of my PC. I changed the motherboard and CPU. I used to have AMD 1090T. Sadly, it got burned out because dust clogged in the heatsink. Even though the CPU fan was spinning, but 1090T was not getting enough ventilation. It burned out late December 2012. So I sold my old ASUS M5A78L/USB3 motherboard. I later bought an AMD FX 8350 and ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard as a replacement.
Now here comes the problem. When I was using my PC I keep on getting Kernel Power error in Windows 8, even when it’s not under full load, just random usage. I had total of 4 Kernel Power critical errors. They all seem to occur at random times.
So I switched to Windows 7 and ran Prime95 for 6 hours without any errors. I ran Intel Burn Test for 8 hours without any errors. Even when it’s not under heavy load, I never got Kernel Power error.
None of my PC components are over clocked. Everything is stock frequency.
My PC Spec;
CPU: AMd FX 8350 4GHZ
GPU: AMD 6870
RAM: 8GB Corsair Dual Channel
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0
PSU: XFX 450W
Samsung 830 128GB SSD
500GB Western Digital HDD
My CPU temperature under full load is 67c
I have updated the BIOS
I have disabled Cool n’ quite.
I have disabled APM in BIOS.
What could be causing Kernel Power Error in Windows 8?
These are the most 2 important question I needs to be answered for me.
If my PC can run Prime95, Intel burn Test and Memtest for 6+ hours without any errors, in Windows 7, does this mean I don’t have a faulty motherboard, CPU or RAM?
Is the Kernel Power Error related to driver error?
If someone an answer those 2 questions, I can be calm for a while. I'm actually really fed up
I have added the Kernel Power error below.
