I need some help picking an Ryzen R5 4C/8T CPU?

I cant decide which is better buy, a R5 1400 or R5 1500X. I will be pairing it with a ASRock AB350M Pro4 AM4 mATX AMD Motherboard, a reference RX 480 8GB and 2x4GB DDR4 Ram 2400mhz.

I will be overclocking it but only like up to 3.7ghz or 3.8ghz like i seen in some youtube videos.

My budget for both the CPU and Motherboard will be $300. Theres some good deals in microcenter right now like $50 off with combo cpu and mobo.

Oh and before I forget, What Im mainly doing with this system unit is gaming like, Battlefield 1, Witcher 3 and GTA V.

GTA V is CPU hungry, therefore getting the 1500x would be optimal. You will need as much power as you can get, and if both are within budget, why not get the better one?

The 1500x is the no brainier. It'll easily oc to 3.6/3.7 on the stock cooler if you have decent airflow. The 1400 will oc just as high but you'd need to spend more than the price difference on a cpu cooler to do so

I also highly suggest 3000 MHz memory. It makes a BIG difference with ryzen as it speeds up the ccx transfers
