Alright guys so long story short, my computer that I built stopped working on me. I thought it was the PSU, so I bought a new Seasonic, thought it was the Mobo after the PSU didn't work so I bought a new Asus Mobo, that didn't work - so I bought a new Ivy Bridge i5 and still no luck. I have no idea why it's not working.

Basically, when I press the power button the CPU and PSU fans spin for a split second and then stop - so my computer doesn't even turn on. Now if I try to turn on the computer again nothing will happen and the fans will not even spin.

I have the computer hooked up with the very basics - CPU, MOBO, PSU and RAM (also have tried with no RAM) and I get the same results.

I'm out of ideas. Do any of you have suggestions?

Sure,

CPU - i5 3570K

Motherboard - Asus P8Z77-V LK

Power Supply - Seasonic M12II-750

RAM - Kingston HyperX 8GB

Case - Corsair 300R

GPU (Not Hooked Up) - 560 Ti

-----

Old PSU - Corsair CX600

Old CPU - i5 2500K

Old Motherboard - ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3

As of right now I have all of the new parts hooked up.

Try taking out the whole mobo+CPU and put it on the mobo box. Try booting it from there as it might be the case might be giving off static or not properly put on correctly. Also, what cooler are you using? just stock?

I put hooked up my old parts (ASRock Mobo, and the i5 with no RAM) outside of the case on top of my Mobo box and I also got the same results - fan briefly spins and then that's it. So I am getting same results on two different motherboards and CPUs while using my new Seasonic PSU. Which is kind of why I am thinking I could have received a bad PSU.

Also I was using a Hyper 212 EVO, took that off and and put the new stock one on and it made no difference.

I will try to turn on the the newer parts outside of the box and post back here in a few minutes.

Alright, so I tried to power it up outside of my case on top of the motherboard box with just the CPU, PSU and Motherboard and I have the same results - fans spin for a split second and then stop.

Yea, pretty frustrating. Because I do not have another PSU around that I know for sure is good - I think I might stop by a computer repair shop and ask if I can use one of theirs for a second.
