in the bios.

My Kingston memory kit says to run it at 1.65v.

I can change the QPI/DRAM Core Voltage or the DRAM Bus Voltage. Which one do I set at 1.65v.

I would have guessed the first - but please post your motherboard make and model, and we'll find out so you don't risk your expensive hardware. In the mean time, you could check your motherboard's manual, the chapter on BIOS settings.

I have an Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard.

I have read the book and it's not very clear. In the memory section of the book it even refers to setting the "DIMM Voltage" rather then referring to QPI/DRAM Core voltage or DRAM BUS Voltage. However in the bios there is no where to set the "DIMM voltage".

I'm leaning towards the DIMM Voltage being the DRAM BUS Voltage. However my memory calls to be ran at 1.65v. Intel suggests on not running over 1.65 or it may damage the cpu. When I try to set it to 1.65v it won't let me. It will let me do 1.66v or 1.64v just not 1.65v. I can't figure it out.

Maybe this will help:

QPI/DRAM Core Voltage values range from 1.20000V to 1.90000V with a 0.00625 interval.

DRAM Bus Voltage values range from 1.50V to 2.46V with a 0.02V

It's got to be the DRAM Bus Voltage. Would like to hear what you guys have to say.
