I need to crack my PW and can not find anything free? Does anything exist?

I have an old laptop, it's actually Win 7 / 8 but I figured anything that can work with 10 might work with the older versions.

So I downloaded a bunch of different things (throwing caution to the wind) to try out but nearly everything ends up telling me to buy the full version. The only thing that I can get to load is Ophcrack but after it completes it's "brute force" mode the PW column says "not found".

Does anyone know something that actually works and is free?

Discussions on how to bypass security measures are not allowed. We have no means to verify the legal ownership of the device in question.
