Question I need to know what to upgrade for running Vegas 20 ?

i edit with Vegas 20 but the preview absolutely hammers the fps when i put some effects and it lags soo badly
specs:
core i5 4440
ram 8 hyper x black
gpu gtx 1060

i am upgrading my ram to 16 gb because i know its low and i have the ability to switch the i5 to i7 4th gen or 6th gen but i am kinda worried that
it wont make any difference in the editing and the fps will stay the same in the preview
any tips?
