Hello everyone! This is my first forum post here and it's regarding my first ever to be built desktop!
I spent over 12 hours researching the components of the build and understanding how each of them works lead to this build right here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4zfKxr
The problem I am facing is that I need it is a little over my budget, can anyone tell me what pieces I should change to make it 100$-200$ cheaper without hurting the performance a lot, I really need to be cheaper so I can buy it but I wish the change in price will affect it slightly or not at all, maybe even make it cheaper and better! Thank you all and have a good day :na: <-- I found this emoji funny so I chose it xD

Solved: I wanted to thank all of you for answering and helping me out, you too Adroid, the last commenter, I followed RCFprod's build in the end but I kept the same AMD processor in my build, cheaper and has a higher benchmark rating, I got the price down to about ~835$, thanks a lot again!

What does it matter if I have a modular PSU and a mid case? Oh yeah, you brought up a good idea regarding the SSD but, let us say I get an SSD later then format the HDD, would I have to do all the BIOS stuff again? You know, the installation process of the graphics card, etc?

You would have to but It's not that much effort really, you do it once after all and you're all set. It took me 30 minutes to set it all up again.

Thanks a lot for this but isn't the motherboard way too cheap, so is the power supply? I really don't want to risk the whole PC due to an electricity surge, I read that it should be ~90$+ dollars, the power supply.

If you really want to go quite a bit cheaper, you can consider these GPU's:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9290aedfd
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/pny-video-card-vcggtx7704xpboc

The GTX 970 is the most popular card at the moment and tops the two cards I listed. The R9 290 will also perform really well but consumes way more power. The GTX 770 can still handle any game with great performance and is 4GB like the GTX 970. It is a step down from the GTX 970 and a bit slower than the R9 290 but It's also a well balanced card.

Dude, cheap doesn't mean It's bad. If you want I can list better ones but these are good components. The Antec PSU is made by Seasonic. Anything by Seasonic is good aswell. The mobo is also easily good enough. You wanted cheaper right? This makes it cheaper plus it keeps your performance up there. And the GTX 970 doesn't even consume much lol.

AsRock makes some great boards at great prices. I've been running AsRock in all my machines without issue. It doesn't matter that it's a modular PSU, just that they will typically cost more because you're packing more in to a smaller size. A mid case can handle a full sized PSU. Read some reviews and look at the PSU, it's highly rated and a bit cheaper than what you chose. Try not to base judgement on the price, but on plenty of reviews from both customers and official sources.

Oh yes I have an important question regarding the motherboard, how does the graphics card get affected by a PCI slot in the motherboard? I mean, whether it was an Express 3.0 x16 or an Express 2.0 x16? Does a WiFi card get affected too? Does the x8 have that much of a difference on a WiFi card than when using and x16?
Sorry it was out of the blue, but I had this on my mind and motherboards were mentioned!

If you want bang for the buck, the first thing to go is the SSD. It's a luxury item and does not increase game performance (it does improve loading times, but won't improve in-game FPS).

I like RCFProd's build much better than your original build. If you are still needing to cut cost you can always reduce the graphics card to something cheaper and upgrade it in a couple years... but the GTX 970 is a heck of a card for it's price point and should play almost all modern games on ultra settings with that build.

And price doesn't mean much in PSUs. I bought a seasonic x series platinum 650W for 69$ and it's pretty much top of the line. It's more about being patient and waiting for a good deal.
