I need to recover a deleted file from an old hard drive

So my problem is two fold. I need to recover a deleted file from an old hard drive that is currently not connected to a computer. So first I need to find a way to connect the hard drive to my laptop with some kind of cable/adapter/interface, and once I've done that, (and I'm not even sure if this is possible) I need to somehow recover the deleted file. Can anyone help me out?

Or ide to usb (unsure which type of drive you have)

Then run any uninstall program to get what ya need

What interface does the old drive use(sata, ide, sas or scsi)?

Thats ide. So you'll need a ide to usb adapter.

So once I connect the hard drive to my computer with the adapter, will the hard drive require any kind of power source?

Well I downloaded EaseUS Data Recovery and I still can't find the files I need. Are there sometimes deleted files that are simply un-recoverable?
