I was assaulted in front of my camera system by my ex wife but she deleted the footage off the dvr. How do I recover it

And I don’t have a computer at the moment. I had to take it to a shop to recover the data off it because she deleted it as well

Ok so it's a surveillance DVR that is connected to security cameras and has a built-in HDD.

If the video has been deleted, you can't recover it with just your account's username/password.

You'll need to connect the HDD to a computer or laptop and use a recovery app like Recuva to recover that file.

Problem is those files are usually encrypted, even if you can recover it, it's not guaranteed that you can play it on your computer or smartphone.

So if I did that how would I view it

On a 1TB HDD, that file could have been overwritten unless you stopped recording before coming to ask here.

Once the deleted file is overwritten, you can't recover it.

So first thing to do is to stop recording then find a way to connect it to a computer or laptop. You still have a chance that the HDD is not encrypted and the video is watchable on the computer or smartphone.
