I need to solve power issues when extending my usb male to female extender

When i increased my usb male to female extender,Message poping up that 'USB Not Recognised'.Help!!!!

The USB spec specifies 5 meters max length, unless you are using a good quality active extender. Just a cable won't work.

Or, you have crap cables.

But I just extended 1m only.cable work fine with my mulimeters

So how long is this overall?
A multimeter test is NOT a good indicator.
