I need to transport a large PC case without a box, how should I do it?

I'm heading out to a small LAN event tomorrow, and I need to transport my PC, which is a Phantom 820, which is pretty big. Luckily, it's only about 10 minutes away, but I'm still concerned since the box got used for something else and then got thrown away. I know to lay the computer motherboard side down, since I have 2 large GPU's. Is it safe to wrap the exterior of the case in bubble wrap? I wasn't sure if static would be an issue if I used bubble wrap on the inside/outside. Should I be alright even without the box and styrofoam? Thanks for any help, first time I've ever moved the computer from my house.

Solution
Static won't be a problem, because none of the circuitry itself touches the case, and it is probable designed that way. The GPU's have that metal back plate, ans the motherboard has the screws and the little pegs that hold it up from the case's side. Put it on the front passenger side floor, and if you really want to, a pillow in between the side of the case and the door. Like you said, bubble wrap or Styrofoam will work too, but as long as you drive carefully, you wont need padding.

This probably sounds incredibly stupid, but I just want to make sure. Using bubble wrap on the outside of the case will have no risk of causing static shock to anything inside the case, right?

Awesome, thanks for the help. :)
