I need to upgrade from 32 to a 64 bit.

I am in need of some help.
I was checking out my laptops specs and noticed that it is only has 2 gigs of ram 1 in use and 1 not being used. I checked how much ram i should have in total and it should be 3. I was thinking that the problem was that i am using windows 8 32 bit. Because 64 bit is better at handling ram. Is there a way for me to upgrade to 64 bit so i can make use of that extra 1. If any more info is needed like cpu, gpu, graphics card, etc ill post it here if you ask for it.

Yeah but when i check in task manager it says
In use:1.1GB, Available:1.6GB shouldn't the available be 2.5 or 2.6 since i have 3 gigs of ram?

Its a HP G60 and i don't think it dose have a intergrated gpu.

Ohhh ok thanks for the help. Guess im stuck with that 2gigs of ram. Time to save up and buy a new laptop .
