Laptop model: Toshibha Satellite L755

I want to upgrade the RAM and CPU for the above laptop. Currently it has 2GB DDR3 RAM and a Pentium CPU and I need to update upgrade both.

1.How much ram can upgraded totally and how much ram should be supported in a single slot?

2.Can i upgrade my processor, if possible, which processor can be upgraded. Can you please suggest me to upgrade?

Ram Amazon Crucial 4GB Single DDR3 1066 MT/s (PC3-8500) CL7 SODIMM 204-Pin Notebook Memory Module CT51264BC1067

Since it is a RPGA988B socket it shoudl accept the following CPU, it just depends if the BIOS will accept it.

CPU Ebay Intel Core i7 2760QM SR02W 2.4GHz 6MB Quad Core Socket G2 Notebook Processor

Note this cpu has a higher wattage and will heat up more then the B940 and shorten the battery life.

Thanks for the reply. can i use this ram Hynix-Hmt451S6Afr8A-Pb-Pc3-12800-DDR3-1600Mhz-Unbuffered which is bit higher than the original support ram DDR3-1333 RAM.
Any other processor can you recommend apart from the i7 as mentioned above.

From what I can see that maxes out at 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3-1333 RAM in SODIMMs. https://content.abt.com/documents/39457/L755S5252_specs.pdf

Overall you would be better off getting a new cheap laptop than trying to upgrade that old one.
Planning to upgrade only ram and processor, lets see how much it will be cost. which one is good hynix or crucial rams. So current 2 gb ram speed capacity 665mhz is slow when compared to actual supports 1333mhz right?
Can you recommend the processor also.

Overall 1333MHz RAM runs at 665MHz clock but since it can get data on the rising and falling levels of the clock it is effectively 1333MHz. That means your current 2GB is already running at the max supported speed for the laptop. When it comes to brand, both Crucial (Micron) and SK Hynix are fine. Get whichever one is cheaper.

For a CPU it is hard to recommend anything as we don't know what the BIOS supports. For example the Core i7-3612QM is socket compatible, in theory, that doesn't mean you can get the BIOS to support that CPU. From what I have seen the top configuration for that laptop came with an i3-2350M so that might be all that it can support. I suggest you try finding out what your BIOS can support and making a decision based on that.

Simmtronics 4GB DDR3 Laptop RAM 1600 MHz (PC 12800) - if i use higher speed ram what happens will it works, or should i use only this
Simmtronics 4GB DDR3 Ram for Laptop 1333 Mhz. Can you update me. which one should i go for it.
2. I have checked couple of rams voltage, in above simmotronices ram is 1.5 v and i have checked other ram which is 1.35V . is there any speed vary based on voltage ?
3.One more ram checked, it shows dual rank : Hynix 4gb Ddr3 Pc3-10600 1333mhz Non-ecc Unbuffered Cl9 1.5v Dual Rank - will increase speed?

The laptop supports RAM up to 1333MHz. You can put faster RAM in the laptop but it will not run at a higher speed than 1333MHz. There is also a possibility that 1600MHz RAM will run at a slower speed (1066MHz) as the laptop doesn't have the profile to run it at rated speeds.

I would do something like this.

Either of those RAM modules, or similar, should work.

The difference in voltage won't change the speed.

according to above specification max 8gb memory only supports right, but my processor is intel pentium b940 processor which maximum support 16gb, ram supports based on processor or anything else

Correct your laptop only supports up to 8GB RAM in a 2x 4GB setup. Just because the processor can support more RAM doesn't mean the platform can support more RAM.

i have installed 4gb ram pc3 10700 1333Mhz , by removing old 2 gb ram, now i have checked cpu-z info, but max speed shows only 667mhz. why the speed is decreased.

Get it somewhere. Search on internet. It's possible to get it.

Microsoft doesn't provide support for windows 8.1 anymore.
Also doesn't offer windows 8.1 downloads.
before clean install, can i backup current windows 8.1 os using acronis software, i have one doubt, will it take product key automatically
