I have an old monitor from a compaq pc I had a few years back and decided to use the monitor for my ps3, I then found out that all it had was a dvi and vga output ports, so I thought maybe if I used a dvi to hdmi converter it would then be able to work for my ps3, here is the converter I found: http://www.amazon.com/igloon-Plated-Female-DVI-D-Adapter/dp/B00NKZ92NI/ref=sr_1_8/179-2100925-7105163?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1438563770&sr=1-8&keywords=dvi+i+to+hdmi+cable

So my question is: Would it work with my ps3 if I had this converter? The monitor model is Compaq WF1907.

Solution
That looks like it does DVI-D to HDMI, which is fairly simple as they are both digital. If the monitor is only DVI-I, then it may not work as it probably means the monitor expects an analog signal, which that convertor won't do.

That isn't true because I flipped the monitor over to check the dvi port and I saw that it had the form of dvi-d not dvi-i.
