I ran out of curiousness a network speed test, okay I got 74 mbps for download, but then I saw 5 mbps for upload. Why is that?

You should always test your internet connection, directly on the modem/router output, with no other devices connected.
Then you get the true as possible speed.

You will always use the download much more than upload, therefore the upload has limited speed to save on subscription fees.

Depends on your contract. If you need more bandwidth for the upload it another way they can charge you.
