[SOLVED] I/O Device Error Can't assign drive letter

Hi,

I've got a seagate 3TB hdd and i can't assign a drive letter nor convert it to GPT

Also it's showing it has only 3.86gb of storage not 3TB, it doesn't get recognized in the bios

It came from a Ubuntu PC i've tried formatting it on the Ubuntu PC nothing changed

I've tried diskpart, many hdd recovery programs nothings really working

Would anyone have a clue ?

Seems like a bad drive. You said it came from some computer, was it working fine there before you removed it? Is the system you are using it in capable of seeing that size drive? Older systems may not.

it was working fine before and yes my system is updated and should be able to recognise the drive
