I/o shield and motherboard...

Hey all in order to install my motherboard in the case I had to bend all the pins on the I/o shield in the back to get the motherboard to sit in the case the right way is this ok?

They are meant to touch the metal housing of the I/O ports of your motherboard.

Would it be ok if they were bent a bit upward some of them don't touch the ports since I bent them could it damage the system?

Just bend them back. They are meant for grounding.
