hi, my msi gd65 motherboard came with an i/o shield which i popped in, and it has these weird prong things from the ethernet ports and usb ports (inbetween the usb ports, smaller ones) protruding from the inside and kind of obstructing motherboard placement. do these prongs belong on the i/o shield on the inside? or are they meant to be ripped off? thanks!

They are important. They are supposed to be between the connectors and provide pressure to keep the backplate from falling inside the computer when you push connectors in. It should take some pressure from the motherboard to squeeze them in when you are installing. They should all line up between the connectors, not interfere with them. If you lose one or two, its not a big deal, but the backplate will come loose and rattle or fall inside the case without them.
