hey guys, im writing because im almost goin crazy with all the lcds out there...

my main concern is that I play lots of fps (bf2, b2142, fear, hl2, css, dods, soon armA, Crysis and flight sim X)

first i was going for 22'' or 24'' lcd. But then I started to think if my games were able to run at those high resolutions.

Ive had my hyundai l90d+ for a while I cant complain its great.

Im getting a whole new system soon with a 8800 gtx and I wanna get the most of it at high res of course =D

So help me out in this one guys!!!

Any recommendations? 20.1''? 22''? 24''?

which of these?

Thanks a lot!!!!

I own the 204B and I have a couple minor complaints. They are:

Shi*tty spatial uniformity/backlight bleeding (The edges are very bright in movies)
Low refresh rate at 1600x1200 (which is quite common with all panels)

Other than that it's an excellent LCD. HOWEVER, I do regret buying it for only one reason: the dirt cheap price of 22 inch panels. I could almost live w/ the backlight bleeding... but $350 for a 22 inch? That's hard to pass up man.

If I had to do it over again, I'd buy the Sceptre in a heartbeat. That particular Scep. model has a ton of great features including HDCP and an HDMI input. It's probably not as sharp as the Samsung... but everything is a trade off.

OK, you're confusing me...
1. You claim "low refresh rates" on 204B. The "suggested refresh rate" is 60hz. That's low when compared to CRTs but LCDs don't suffer the same ills at 60hz that CRTs would. Virtually all LCDs at 19" and greater which I've seen have a suggested refresh rate of 60hz, and some have a maximum refresh rate of 75hz. However, some tests have shown the LCDs to perform better at 60hz, especially those with overdrive.

2. In another thread, you warn "... few 1600x1200 refresh higher than 60hz, and Samsung has none..." Isn't the 204B one of the ones @ 60hz?

Yes... LCD's are better at refresh rates than monitors AT THE SAME frequency. But I tell you, when I switch between 60hz and 75hz at 1280x1024 with this panel, there's a biiiiiiiiig difference in my eye strain.

As I said.. few panels are able to do GREATER than 60hz at 1600x1200. That means the 204B CAN do 60hz, it just can't go any higher.
