Minecraft Windows 10 edition is entirely different from normal Minecraft for Windows. The Windows 10 version is cheaper but also has far less features and there is no cross-play between the two.

Minecraft for Windows 10 is more or less a port of Minecraft Pocket Edition. It's also controlled directly by Microsoft, I think.

If you want true Minecraft, you have to buy it from the official Minecraft site.
