Solution ubercake Aug 12, 2016 No. My 1080 doesn't even use all of the bandwidth available on my PCIe 2.0 board and the GPU gets to 100% utilization under load all of the time. A PCIe 2.0 bus will not damage your GPU in any way. That's horse manure.
