[SOLVED] I plugged a HDMI cable in my DP slot and the DP doenst funtion after this.

At first i didnt notice it wasnt an hdmi but in fact a displayport slot. The hdmi cable went all the way in but had room to wiggle. I quickly saw the error of my ways and I am trying now with an actual Displayport cable (1.4). The monitor does notice that i am plugging it in, however its not showing an image at all.
Did i just destroy my DP slot by trying to plug in a hdmi cable? Thanks.

PS Im using a Nvidia MSI GTX 1660 Ti

more than likely bent the interface out of shape and possibly damaged connector pins.

take a lighted up-close picture of it and share here.
