Question I put in a new graphics card and nothing is being displayed on my monitor

So i was given a graphics card by a friend its the amd rx 580 and i put it in and at first the fans wernt spinning so i realised i had to connect it to a pci-e cable and the fans started spinning but for some reason my monitor just goes to sleep or doesnt even turn on when i connect my hdmi to the graphics card any help would be greatly appreciated.

My pc wont display anything after plugging in new graphics card

Monitor:

I got my power supply 7 years ago which i believe was around the time it came out. My bios version is FC and the gpu i was using previously was the Geforce GTX 1050ti
