I decided to save a few dollars and build my next computer. Everything was going fine, a couple of minor glitches, solved because of reading this forum and other places. Had to troubleshoot the system, had it down to barebones and realized I could not boot the system with Windows 7 Pro, just received my copy of Windows 10 Pro today. Everything was in the case except the graphics card. I successfully installed Windows 10 using a USB and hit reset, it booted from the USB and installed. Got it updated and turned it all off and plugged in the graphics card.
I expected a clean boot-up and when I hit power it sounded like a firecracker went off in the case. I immediately pulled the plug, removed the graphics card, tried to boot up the system and no joy. Won't boot even bare bones. I'm guessing the mobo is toast? I looked for something fried and could find nothing. I don't have a clue how to proceed now.
