I put RAM into my PC but it still doesnt work.

I just put 2GB of RAM into my PC so I've got 4GB now. I normally start up my PC but it still works on 2GB and shows that it has 4GB but 2GB usable. So I tried to find a driver but I wasnt successful at all... can you help me? Thx

I would try this first. In windows, hit start, type in the search dialog MSCONFIG. Hit the BOOT tab. Hit ADVANCED OPTIONS. Deselect "Maximum Memory"

Check the model of the ramstick, are they the same?

If not, check the motherboard if it is supported

RAM dont need drivers

OS Version?

Bios settings?

Alright guys, problem solved. The only thing I've done was going to MCSONFIG and changing maximum memory as delellod123 said. There is about 3,5gb of RAM which is usable, not all 4gb but thats better than 2gb ofc. Thx :]

Glad that helped. 3.5 GB is usable because the operating system is reserved for the other 500 mb.
