Yeah I've read all the other threads similar to this...

I'm still confused, I've been trying to find a good monitor all night.

I am looking for a decent size (24" perhaps?) monitor for the computer I am building. This computer will sit in my office. Rarely will it be used for watching movies (I have my TV for that!) and I won't ever use it for graphical design, imaging or that sort of stuff. It will almost entirely be surfing the internet and playing games like Diablo 3, Tera, GW2 etc.

Do I need an IPS for this or will I not be able to tell the difference between IPS and a cheaper monitor?
£250 would be my max budget but only if you think I would get any use out of a good monitor, if you think I won't need that kind of quality I'd prefer to keep it lower.

Here are some IPS monitors I found, are these good?
Viewsonic VP2365 at £190 http://www.ebuyer.com/279294-viewsonic-vp2365-lcd-led-23-dvi-monitor-vp2365-led
Dell u2412m for £230 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-052-DE
Asus PA238Q for £200 http://www.ebuyer.com/280571-asus-pa238q-lcd-led-23-hdmi-monitor-pa238q

I have heard some odd things about a couple of those though, especially the asus to do with leakage or backlight bleeding or something?

If I do not need an IPS monitor or will not get value for my money, can you recommend me a cheaper one please?

Thanks for the reply.
Any reason you suggest that one over the others?
The reports of backlight bleeding issues worry me.

And do you think an IPS is suitable for me?

An excellent monitor I've seen is the Viewsonic VX2336s. I've only seen positive reviews about it, each stating its amazing quality. Strongly recommend this one, I will probably buy it myself.
