You should ask immediately if the damage is something you can't live with.

Where did you buy it from? Most legitimate sellers have a return policy for goods that are not as expected. Make sure the sales listing does not specify that it has a scratch because if it does then that's on you and you shouldn't return it. If it makes no mention of any cosmetic damage then definitely ask to return it.
