I recently built a computer and whenever I try to connect it to a monitor it says no signal

I built a computer recently that whenever I try to connect to a monitor it says no signal. I then brought it to a computer repair shop near me ,and the guy there said I had broken my motherboard. the thing is everything turns on in my computer including the motherboard.so before I buy a new one I'd like to know if it's possibly to fix it.

Did he said why? Given you any description what you did wrong? Or was he just guessing?

Remove your GPU and plug your cables into your motherboard.
Remove all ram except for one, put it in the first socket.
Try booting.
If it doesnt work try the second slot.
Try booting.
Keep doing this for all of the slots.
