Hello,
I have an Asus K52JT-A1 that I recently decided to update to 16GB of RAM so I purchased 2x8GB sticks of Crucial RAM (Model CT102464BF160B.C16FPR). After it arrived and I tried to install it, I found out that my computer only supports 8GB of RAM. I then tried to install just one of the two sticks of RAM, however my computer wouldn't start. It wouldn't even past the POST test and show me a blue screen. The strange part is that when I put in both sticks of 8GB RAM it starts and gives me an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. This led me to believe that my PC will only run with 2 sticks of RAM, however when i tried just one stick of my old RAM it worked fine in both slots.
The new RAM's speed is faster than my old RAM, and it is 1.35V RAM where as my old RAM was 1.5V; however I have read that neither of those things should be an issue.
I have tried updating the BIOS, and it didn't help. In fact, my BIOS doesn't even have any options to change the RAM frequency settings.
I don't know what to do from here. I consider myself fairly technologically literate, however I don't really know what to do from here. Do you guys have any ideas? Can the K52JT not work with 8GB sticks?
Thanks for any help.
