I reinstalled WIN 11 home on may laptop that came from HP. Now I cant access or make changes to Windows security and kinda limited user. I cant see GPEDIT.MSC and policy editor.

I washed my laptop 2 times.

I am facing below issue

Your IT Administrator Has Limited Access” Windows Security Error

My user is admin and before installation, there was no such issue
Laptop: i7 10th Gen with 16GB RAM and with NVMe. HP pavilion x360 - win 11 home builtin

This issue of not seeing 'gpedit.msc' and 'group policy editor' is because you're on Windows 11 Home, and it's available in the Windows 11 Pro only.

although there are ways of getting the gpedit and policy editor on the home version too, it requires a bit of tinkering to do. see how

before reinstallation, all were intact and accessible. this happened only after flashing my drive. I want to disable win security & win defender, even they are not allowed

do you have a work/school account in the computer? this could cause the following issue. make sure to sign out of work or school accounts and see if you still get your error.

also reconfirm if your account has administrator privileges

I am having admin user and it's a personal laptop never linked to any school or work account or networks. At present i am updating the fresh installed windows

home edition
well, gpedit shouldn't be available in the home edition unless you have manually installed gpedit though some method as I said before. since now you don't have gpedit and policy editor, you can enable them using this method.

also make sure you don't have another antivirus program that may be inflicting with windows defender. if you do have another AV installed, try uninstalling that AV, then restarting your computer, then trying again to see if the same thing happens.

could you also tell me what you're trying to achieve, are you tying to disable windows defender/security? if so you can use a simple tool (which I use as well) to disable defender permanently. it works great and it will make sure that defender is fully removed unlike using the 'disable real time protection' through windows security. here is where to download it.
