I see monsters on my right

Just started a bit farming. O's are my boulder.
I just do not understand why I can see P's behind the boulder on my
right, and can only see 2's on my left (thanx to my ring of warning).
Both are located in a lighted room...
I would expect to see only 2, not P on my right.
Not worried at all, but seems like a bug to me.
What do you think? Any explanation?

I suppose it isn't, but... could the boulder to the right of your character
actually be a mimic (try searching or apply stethoscope or so)?

The line-of-sight effect suggests that something is wrong with that boulder;
can you remember how it got there, or whether there was anything unusual
with that boulder (maybe a giant on that square, or so)?

As one can see on n.a.o everything seems to be fine now.
What have you done?
